Behold Thy Mother
(John 19:25-27)

A mother is an embodiment of God that a man can never be. Within her, the mother, are instincts and tender emotions that can communicate warmth, security and the feeling of being loved that every child needs to ground them in life, it is one of the greatest tragedies in life for a child to miss a mother love and the greatest gift to have received it.

I. Consider the baby in the mother’s womb.

A. The baby receives without even asking everything necessary for life.

Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need
of, before ye ask him. (Matthew 6:8)

B. When the baby is resting asleep in the mother, she is working to meet all of his needs.

But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

C. The baby’s peace and security is maintained by the constant beat of his mother’s heart.

Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth
in thee. (Isaiah 26:3)

D. The baby’s life is hidden in the life of the mother.

For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. (Colossians 3:3)
