Renewing Your Mind by Defeating Strongholds
(2 Cor. 10:3-5)

I. You must engage the enemy within your mind by exposing every lie, tearing down every strong hold and bringing every thought captive to Christ. (2 Corinthians 10:4-5)

For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds; Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every though to the obedience of Christ.

A. Strong holds are built by the devil out of pain, lies, and fear. (Rev. 12:9; 2 Tim. 1:7)

B. There are three objectives in tearing down strongholds.

1. Casting down imaginations from Satan and using positive imaging.

2. Identifying Satan's lie and replacing with God's truth. (Romans 3:4)

God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged.

3. Finding and obeying the mind of Christ in every situation.

II. You must allow the Holy Spirit to develop five attitudes of Christ in you. (Phillip. 2:5-8)

Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

A. The giving up of your rights and privileges to God.

B. Made himself of no reputation.

C. The development of a servant attitude.

D. He embraced humility.

E. Developed obedience, even unto death.

III. You must learn to receive the impartation of life through the Word. (John 6:63)

It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.
